IWE AC1 Barium Sulphate Antiscalant
IWE AC1 has been developed as an antiscalant for use in Reverse Osmosis and NanoFiltration systems using natural and process feed-waters with particularly high levels of barium sulphate and calcium carbonate. It is also effective against other common scaling species. The strong threshold properties exhibited by IWE AC1 against barium sulphate enable membrane systems to be operated at their optimum recovery rate. This reduces the amount of feed water needed and the volume of reject water for disposal. Consequently, significant capital and consumable cost savings can be made.
Application
IWE AC1 should be dosed continuously to the feed water upstream of the cartridge filter. Typical dosage rates are 3-5 mg/l. Industrial Water Equipment staff will provide advice on the most suitable dose rate for a particular water analysis.IWE AC1 can be diluted and is fully miscible with water in all proportions. Solutions ofIWE AC1 should be prepared daily

IWE AC3 Broad Spectrum Antiscalant and Antifoulant
IWE AC3 is a general purpose liquid antiscalant & antifoulant for use in Reverse Osmosis and Nano-filtration systems. This concentrated phosphonate product is effective against a wide range of inorganic scaling species and also sequesters trivalent metal cations such as iron, manganese and aluminium thus reducing the frequency of membrane replacement and cleaning.
IWE AC3 has proven to be effective at a Langelier Saturation Index (LSI) of +2.6 which means that systems can be designed and operated at their optimum recovery rates.
By reducing the amount of feed water used and concentrate to be discharged, significant savings can be made to both capital and operational costs.
Application
IWE AC3 should be dosed continuously to the feed water upstream of the cartridge filters. Typical dosage rates are 2 – 4 mg/L.
IWE AC3 may also be used in sea water applications where iron is present, recycle of brine is in use or there is no feed water pH reduction by acid dosing.
Typical dose rates are 0.5 – 1.0 mg/L
Under NSF listing the IWE AC3 dose rate in the feed water should be less than 5 mg/L in potable water systems.
IWE AC3 can be diluted and is fully miscible with water in all proportions.
Health and Safety
IWE AC3 is an aqueous solution of neutralised phosphonic acid. It has been approved for use in potable water applications and does not contribute to assimilable organic carbon (AOC), which can act as source of nutrient for micro-organisms. IWE AC3 is compatible with carbon steel and other commonly used materials of construction. Observe all safety precautions shown in the material safety data sheet, available on request.

IWE AC5 Calcium Phosphate Antiscalant
IWE AC5 has been developed specifically to prevent calcium phosphate and calcium carbonate scaling in Reverse Osmosis and NanoFiltration systems. IWE AC5 permits system operation at higher pH and recovery than other antiscalants; thus reducing the amount of feed water, reject water disposal and acid for pH control needed, resulting in significant capital and operational cost savings.
Application
IWE AC5 should be dosed continuously to the feed water upstream of the cartridge filter. The dose rate of IWE AC5 is dependent on the calcium and phosphate content of the concentrate stream, as well as pH, temperature and ionic strength.
